Violence touches the lives of thousands of Riverside County residents each year. While the causes of violence are complex, there are opportunities across the lifespan to prevent violence and offer pathways to healing for those who experience it. With community safety being a pillar of our work, the RUHS-PH violence prevention program aims to understand the problem of violence through data and assessments, support primary prevention programs that help prevent violence from happening, and promote services and resources that promote healing after violence has occurred.
- Strategic Plan
Violence is a significant public health problem, and this is why RUHS-PH launched a Violence Prevention Strategic Plan in 2025 that makes violence prevention a priority across our programs and services. Thank you to all staff who provided input and guided the development of the plan!
This plan represents a commitment to building the confidence and skills of our workforce to provide violence prevention education, intervention and support, and lay the foundation to build and strengthen collaborative relationships across multiple sectors to address violence in our communities. By raising awareness and building relationships with multi-sector partners, we are building the foundation for a safer Riverside County where more people and communities can thrive.

- Shareables and Resources
- Data and Reports
Strategic Aim #1 recognizes violence prevention as a priority for public health work that is reflected in internal policies, data measures, and dedicated resources. This includes collecting and sharing data on the impact of violence in Riverside County and the intersectionality for multiple forms of violence.
