Application Process for the Orthopedic Surgery Residency Program

Prospective Residents

Eligible applicants will be considered on the basis of residency program-related criteria such as their preparedness, ability, aptitude, academic credentials, communication skills and personal qualities such as motivation and integrity. Programs will not discriminate with regard to sex, race, religion, color, national origin, disability, veteran status, or any other applicable legally protected status. Once accepted by the Program, applicants are responsible for the costs of their ACLS/BLS certifications, DEA license, and Physician Assistant in Orthopaedic Surgery (PAOS) membership.  No additional costs are incurred by applicants.  Program does not provide housing for eligible applicants.

Our selection criteria for prospective residents regarding interview and selection depends on multiple factors. These include academic performance, passed Boards (Part 1 and 2), and having done some research helps with their status. Strong letters of recommendation from Orthopaedic surgeons are important. Also, completing an audition rotation is strongly encouraged. This allows the prospective resident an opportunity to learn about our program and gain additional insight.

The complete application deadline is October 28, 2024. Only complete application will be reviewed and considered for interview by the Program Director. Application will only be accepted through ERAS, please do not send applications and associated document through the mail or e-mail. The Electronic Application Service address is: www.aamc/org/eras.
