RUHS – Medical Center earns recognition from The Joint Commission for hip fracture care

Riverside University Health System – Medical Center has earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval for Disease - Specific Care Certification Hip Fracture. The Joint Commission is a national organization that develops standards promoting quality and safety in healthcare. These standards are developed in consultation with health care experts and providers, measurement experts and patients. The Gold Seal is a symbol of prestige that reflects a health care organization’s commitment to providing safe and quality patient care.

RUHS – Medical Center underwent a rigorous, onsite review in which a Joint Commission reviewer evaluated compliance with its certification standards. The reviewer also conducted onsite observations and interviews to evaluate how RUHS uses clinical outcomes and performance measures to identify opportunities to improve care, as well as to educate and prepare patients and their caregivers for discharge.

The certification recognizes healthcare organizations that provide clinical programs across the continuum of care for hip fractures. For more information on The Joint Commission certification, visit www.jointcommission.org.
