MORENO VALLEY, CA (Aug 26, 2026) – Riverside University Health System’s Community Health Centers (CHCs) once again received national recognition for providing exceptional care to patients across Riverside County.
The CHCs received four Community Health Quality Recognition (CHQR) Badges from the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), an agency within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services that supports healthcare for communities that are often geographically or economically vulnerable.
"Our entire team is dedicated to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care every day," said Dr. Mahbuba Khan, Medical Director of Operations at the CHCs. "These honors represent the impact of our work to improve health outcomes and expand access, and we will continue raising the standard of care for the communities we serve.”
Each year, HRSA reviews the performance of community health centers against its program requirements. This is the fourth time that RUHS has received multiple HRSA awards for its care of patients.
RUHS earned the following CHQR Badges for 2026:
- Health Center Quality Leader (Silver) – Ranks within the top 20% of health centers nationally based on HRSA Clinical Quality Measure data.
- National Quality Leader – Behavioral Health – Meets or exceeds measurement targets related to depression and substance use treatment.
- Advancing Health Information Technology (HIT) For Quality – Offers telehealth services, engages patients through HIT and collects data on patient health-related needs.
- Preventive Health – Meets preventive measurement targets, including dental sealants, childhood lead screening, child and adolescent weight assessment, early childhood development screening and evaluation and screening for depression.
RUHS operates 14 Community Health Centers that deliver a range of medical services, from immunizations and cancer screenings to dental care and behavioral health services. The network of health centers logs over 400,000 visits per year.
Seven CHCs also offer walk-in, non-emergency Express Care services, allowing patients to receive care that may be more convenient for them in the evenings and on weekends.
