The Climate Justice Program at RUHS Public Health works with communities in Riverside County that are most affected by pollution, extreme heat, and other climate-related health problems. Our goal is to support healthy, safe, and resilient communities—especially in areas that have experienced greater negative health outcomes due to environmental and social conditions.

We partner with local organizations and residents to understand how climate change is affecting their neighborhoods and to find solutions together. This includes creating tools like maps, dashboards, and reports that show the impact of climate change on local health—such as how heat, air quality, and access to resources affect people’s well-being.

Our tools are designed to make complex data easy to understand. They help highlight where the biggest risks are, what communities are most impacted, and what can be done to reduce harm and improve health.

By combining community knowledge with data and public health expertise, we help people speak up, stay safe, and take action to improve their environment now and for the future.
