Salomeh Wagaw, MPH

Program Director - CDC

Salomeh is the first Program Director of Health Equity for the department. Prior to her current position, she served as an Epidemiologist with Riverside County for over 8 years. She has a Bachelor of Science in Biology from University of California Riverside and a Master of Public Health in Research Epidemiology from Loma Linda University.

Gregory Mercado, MPH

Health Communications Coordinator

Gregory Mercado is a Media Communications Coordinator. Greg holds two bachelors, B.A. in Gender Ethnicity Multicultural Studies, B.S. in Health Promotion and a Masters in Public Health. Greg has career experience in community health, media, and marketing.

Andrea Tovar, MPH

Research Analyst (Media)

Andrea is a Research Analyst, she holds a Master in Public Health. Andrea has experience in the nonprofit sector working with various community based organizations on Health Equity in Riverside County.

Adesola Haugabrook, MPH

Program Coordinator II

Adesola is a Program Coordinator II, previously she worked in Prevention and Early Intervention team with Behavioral Health, followed by infectious and communicable disease prevention in the HIV/STD branch. She is a trained program planner and community organizer with a Masters in Public Health-Global Health from Loma Linda University School of Public Health.

Dorthy Delphin, MPH

Program Coordinator II

Dorothy is a Program Coordinator II with 13 years of experience working in Public Health, primarily in Maternal and Child Health. She holds a Masters in Urban Public Health from Charles Drew University of Medicine and Science.

Mary Obideyi, MPH

Program Coordinator II

Mary is a Program Coordinator II, who leads the Riverside County Health Coalition. Mary obtained an MPH at California Baptist University and is a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES®), with experience in providing evidence-based training around suicide prevention and mental health.

Irene Hjelmervik, MPA

Program Coordinator II

Irene is a bilingual Program Coordinator II, she holds an BS in Public Health and Master of Public Administration with a specialization in Organizational Leadership. Over the past 15 years, she has worked with County residents, partners, and stakeholders, educating on various areas of public health.

James Jo, DrPh

Health Educator

James is a Health Educator, he brings experience and expertise as an educator, evaluator, and policy advocate. He has earned DrPH in Preventive Care and MPH in Health Education from Loma Linda University School of Public Health.

Bridget Vigneault, MS

Health Education Assistant II

Bridget is a Health Education Assistant II, her interest in Health Equity comes from over 13 years as an LMFT serving underserved and under resourced individuals through Behavioral Health programs addressing mental health crisis and homelessness.

Chinyelu Ugwuanyi, MPA

Health Education Assistant II

Chinyelu is a Health Education Assistant II, her interest in health equity comes from her background in community and global health. She holds an MPA in International Management from American University and a BA in Political Science from University of California, Riverside.

Maureen Albia, BS

Health Education Assistant II

Maureen received her BS in Neuroscience at UCLA and completed medical school at Fatima College of Medicine in the Philippines; where she discovered her passion for Public Health with the intent to focus on community medicine in underserved populations.

Mayra Mendoza, BS

Health Education Assistant II

Mayra is a bilingual Health Education Assistant II, she graduated with a BS in Public Health from UC San Diego. Her interest in Health Equity work began during her 2 years of service in AmeriCorps, working with students in underserved and under-resourced communities.

Donna Mayer, BA, CEM

Program Director - ELC

Donna oversees five Riverside County Health Equity Outreach Teams and manages the Epidemiology and Laboratory Capacity Program and Countywide Health Equity Strategic Plan project. Donna holds a bachelor’s degree in Health and Human Services, Communications and is a Certified Emergency Manager with an extensive background in plan development, outreach, and education.

Brittany Whitmore, MHA

Program Coordinator II

Brittany co-leads the District 5 Riverside County Health Equity Community Outreach Team. Brittany holds a Master of Health Administration with a concentration in Health Information Technology.

Daisy Ramirez, BS

Program Coordinator II

Daisy co-leads the District 4 Riverside County Health Equity Community Outreach Team. Daisy holds two bachelor’s degrees, one in Public Health Policy and a second in Public Health Science.

Juan Landeros-Tavera, MPH

Program Coordinator II

Juan co-leads the District 1 Riverside County Health Equity Community Outreach Team. Juan holds a bachelor’s degree in Anthropology and a Master of Public Health degree.

Edgar Talavera, BS

Program Coordinator I

Edgar supports the Epidemiology and Laboratory Capacity Program and Riverside County Health Equity Community Outreach Teams. Edgar holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and has extensive knowledge of grant management and project leadership.

Mariana Hernandez, MPA

Health Education Assistant II

Mariana supports the Riverside County Health Equity Community Outreach Teams. Mariana holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and a Master of Public Administration with a concentration in Public Health.
