Preteen Vaccine Week is a statewide observance, celebrated February 26-March 4 in 2023.
Preteen Vaccine Week promotes the importance of immunizing preteens and highlights the preteen doctor visit as an opportunity for preteens to receive vaccines that can protect them from very serious, yet preventable diseases.
School Immunization Requirements
California School Immunization law requires that all children be up-to-date on their immunizations before entry to schools or child care centers. In addition, the California School Immunization laws require schools and child care centers to enforce immunizations requirements, to maintain immunization records for all students enrolled, and to submit reports. Below are easily accessible tools regarding school immunization. For more detailed information regarding school immunization, please visit CDPH Shots for School website.
