Clinical Pharmacy Residency

As an institution, Riverside University Health System is committed to the education and training of healthcare professionals of various disciplines. RUHS Department of Pharmacy is excited to join this effort in post-graduate training.

In addition to our long-standing tradition of offering clinical rotations for pharmacy students, we are proud to now offer a PGY1 Pharmacy Residency Program, as well as two PGY2 programs in Psychiatric Pharmacy and Emergency Medicine. Our residents become integral members of our exceptional pharmacy and medical teams, working closely with experienced preceptors to optimize medication management for a diverse patient population. They will have opportunities to engage in both formal and informal case discussions—ranging from multidisciplinary bedside rounds to clinical presentations.

Our program is designed to provide high-quality educational conferences, valuable teaching opportunities, and exposure to a broad spectrum of patient care experiences. We foster a collaborative, supportive environment that promotes professional growth and the development of life-long learning skills.

Upon completion, residents will be well-prepared for board certification, PGY2 training (for PGY1 graduates), and/or additional advanced specialization in focused areas of practice. Most importantly, they will be equipped to serve as clinical pharmacy practitioners in multidisciplinary healthcare settings—delivering optimized pharmaceutical care that improves patient outcomes.

We welcome you to join us!
