As of December 12, 2013 the base salaries for the RUHS - UCR General Surgery Residents are as follows:
- PGY-1: $51,871.00
- PGY-2: $53,766.00
- PGY-3: $55,807.00
- PGY-4: $58,241.00
- PGY-5: $60,533.00
Residents are paid monthly and direct deposit of your paycheck is available. You will be given a UCR payroll calendar at Orientation.
Residents will receive the following benefits, subject to the same conditions applicable to exempt employees and the terms and conditions of the UCR's current benefit plans and/or policies. The benefits listed below may be modified unilaterally by UCR from time to time:
Health and Dental Insurance: UCR Human Resources will inform the Residents of the medical and dental insurance plans and options at the earliest opportunity so that residents may enroll early in an appropriate insurance plan. UCR will provide comprehensive health insurance at no charge to the resident and their family.
Disability insurance: UCR will provide long-term and short-term disability insurance to the resident
Life insurance: UCR will provide life insurance coverage to the resident.
Worker’s Compensation: UCR will provide Worker’s Compensation Insurance to the resident, consistent with UCR’s benefits program.
Vacation: Fifteen days of paid vacation per academic Year. Five days of paid conference time per academic year and holiday pay for all usual UCR holidays.
Counseling: Counseling services are available through the Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
Lab coats / scrub suits: Lab coats and scrub suits are provided at no cost to the resident.
Meals: Meals are provided when residents are on 24 hour call.
Housing: Other than access to call rooms with toilet and shower facilities while on call, UCR does not provide housing
