Family medicine education is a source of great pride for RUHS Medical Center and the University of California Riverside. Our residency program is currently one of four ACGME-approved residencies based within the hospital and we are primarily involved with all services in the hospital.
Throughout the years, our program has thrived in an environment with a strong commitment to the underserved populations of Riverside County. Our patient population consists of indigent 60%, Medi-Cal 25%, and Medicare 10%. Given our large multicultural population including 60% Latino, 15% African American and 5% Asian, our residents are making a positive impact within our community and receiving rewarding experiences that will follow them for a lifetime.
In addition to seeing continuity patients in the Family Medicine Clinic at the hospital, our residents also see patients at four of the County Health Agency Clinics; Don Schroeder Family Care Center in Rubidoux; the Dr. Robert Bruce Reid Health Clinic in Perris; Riverside Neighborhood Clinic; and Banning Family Care Clinic.
