Welcome to the RUHS / UCR Family Medicine Residency Program!
I invite you to consider our community-based Family Medicine Residency Program at Riverside University Health System (RUHS). Our program was one of the first family medicine residency programs accredited in the state of California. We opened the doors to our first residency class of six physicians in 1971 and have since expanded to a full 12-12-12 resident complement. Our strong foundation and extensive experience gives us valuable insight into providing high-quality care to our community.
Our mission is to prepare family physicians to provide comprehensive and patient-centered care and advocate for their patients and their families in the Inland Empire community. We are proud to have a core group of faculty dedicated to this mission who contribute their expertise across the breadth of family medicine, including board-certified geriatricians, sports medicine physicians, and palliative medicine physicians.
Our dynamic curriculum is regularly updated to reflect the interests of our faculty and resident physicians, with the ultimate goals of improving training and reducing health disparities in our diverse community. We use an innovative Clinic-First model to improve resident physician continuity and engagement in the community.
We are a close-knit family dedicated to providing an inclusive and engaging learning environment for future community-based family physicians. We invite you to visit our program and learn more about our community.
